1、在英國英語中，通常可有兩種表達法：月日年或者日月年。
寫法：(the) 2(nd) may, 1988
讀法：the second of may, nineteen eighty-eight
或 寫法：may (the) 2(nd), 1988
讀法：may the second, nineteen eighty-eight
2、在美國英語中，通常只採用一種表達法：月、日、年。
寫法：may 2(nd), 1989
讀法：may second, nineteen eighty-nine
美式日期書寫注意事項：
1. 也許會有人寫成october 16th, 或是october the 16th
然後也許在讀的時候把」the」也讀了出來。這都不算錯，只是比較少見而已。
2. 星期幾一定是擺在最前頭，接著就是月份和日期，最後才是年份。如果，還要詳細再加上時間。比方幾點幾分，那就擱在最後頭。比方拿我的出生日期來說，
i was born on monday, february 5, 1962 at 11:00 pm.
he arrived on friday, may 10.
3. 介詞也請注意。月份/年份 都是」 in 「
例如：i was born in 1962.
my birthday is in february.

世紀、年代、年、月、日的表達
一、世紀：
1、用「定冠詞+序數詞+century」表示
例：在十七世紀 寫作：in the 17th century，讀作：in the seventeenth century
例：在十七世紀 寫作：in the 1600s，讀作：in the sixteen hundreds
注意：這種情況下，實際表達的世紀數是阿拉伯數字本身加一。
二、年代
用「定冠詞+(世紀百位進數+十位年代數)+s」表示
例：在二十世紀三十年代 寫作：in the 1930s，讀作：
in the thirties of the twentieth century或 in the nineteen thirties
表示某年代的早期、中期和晚期，可以在定冠詞後新增early, mid-和late
例如：在二十世紀二十年代早期 in the early 1920s；
在二十世紀五十年代中期 in the mid-1950s
三、年月日
1、年份
① 讀年份時一般分為兩個單位來讀，前兩個數為乙個，後兩個數為乙個：
1949 讀作：nineteen forty-nine或nineteen hundred and forty-nine
② 如果是三位數，先讀第一位，再把後兩個數合起來讀：
253 讀作：two fifty-three或two hundred and fifty-three
③ 另外： 2000 讀作：two thousand，1902 讀作：nineteen hundred and two或 nineteen o two
④ 如果要使用year，year放在數詞之前
例如：in the year two fifty-three b.c. 在西元前253年

月份是專有名詞，除了少數幾個月份外都有縮寫形式：

時間寫法從小到大：
中文「今天是2023年9月11日」，英國文今天是「september 11th, 2015」， 而美國人則會說 「11th september, 2015」。
舉例：1、1986 年 10月 23 日→october 23(rd), 1986
2、2002 年 1 月 17 日→january 17(th), 2002
英語表達的順序為\'月、日、年\'， 因此 2004 年 11 月 8 日就可寫成november 8th, 2004，還可表示為 november eighth, 2004。
另外，也可寫成\'日、月、年\'，8th november, 2004 即 the eighth of november, 2004。
英語日期的表示法： 英語中月份和星期名稱都是專有名詞(獨一無二的東西比如 月亮 太陽)，它們的首字母必須大寫，並且前面無需用冠詞。
